Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld & Giovanna Battaglia. 02 / 08 / 12

Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld (above left) presented the opening of “Ouattara Watts: Vertigo” last night in the West Village. A continuation of the young art dealer’s fashion-week exhibition tradition, Vertigo features nearly 20 new, bright and bold, large-scale paintings from Ivory Coast-born, neo-expressionist painter, Ouattara Watts. The opening reception lured guests— including Carine Roitfeld, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Salman Rushdie, Tom Sachs, Diane von Furstenberg, Claire Courtin, Dustin Yellin, Elisa Sednaoui, Stefano Tonchi, Sante D’Orazio, and Giovanna Battaglia (pictured above)—into a nameless, industrial-looking space at 560 Washington Street (door 37E). “Vertigo” remains on view through February 19. –Mallory Passuite
