Anathea Chartrand

Anathea Chartrand Simpkins holds a B.F.A in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College and an M.Ed in English Education from the University of Massachusetts. For six years, she worked as an English teacher in various school districts throughout Massachusetts. For the past ten years, Anathea has worked in educational publishing as both a writer and editor. Currently, she holds a position as the Director of Content Services for Core K12 Educational and Consulting Solutions, a company that works to empower the worldwide educational community through curriculum and assessment solutions. In addition to her work in the field of education, Anathea is a life-long vegetarian, who grew up in a family of wine importers and chefs, and has been known to dip her toe in the food writing waters. She is the cowriter of two cookbooks, Thrown Out of an Italian Kitchen: Recipes from Sweet Basil and Well-Seasoned: Recipes from the Williamsburg-Greenpoint CSA. Anathea also shares vegetarian recipes, restaurant reviews, and musings on her blog, Greenpointdish. Anathea resides in the Guernsey Garden of Greenpoint, Brooklyn, with her husband Wes, a storyboard artist, her dog, Swizzle, and cat, Coyote.
